SLCC Concurrent Enrollment
Students must register online at slcc.edu/concurrentenrollment and pay their $40 registration fee. This process is required for admission to Salt Lake Community College.
Students who have registered for a concurrent enrollment course next year will need to take the CPT (Competency Placement Test) or submit a current acceptable ACT score.
Once a student has registered for concurrent enrollment, he or she will need to sign up for a test date and time in the Career Center at their current school.
Students may sign up for the test and have any questions answered in the Career Center at their respective schools. Students will need to bring their SLCC "S-Number" to the Career Center and sign up for a date and time to test.
ARCH 1100 Intro. To Arch. Drawing 9810 (CTE) 11, 12
Students will learn to design and produce architectural drawings used in residential projects. The course includes practical hand drafting skills in the production of floor plans, section, details, elevations and schedules.
Beginning Pottery (ART 1600) 1065 (A) 11, 12
This course is an introduction to the potter’s wheel. Students become familiar with terms, tools, and techniques used to create functional objects with the potter’s wheel.
BCCM 1200 Personal Projects 9863 (CTE) 11, 12
This course allows students to plan a special project in an area of personal interest (approved by the instructor). Students will use the shop & tools of the trade to build projects of their own design. Safety is taught along with the correct use of equipment.
Elements of Effective Communication (COMM 1010) 9829 (Sr. LA, CTE) 11, 12
Listening, verbal & nonverbal messages, negotiation, conflict management, and diversity in workplace and interpersonal settings. Communication theory and practice applied in small group, writing, and electronic and verbal presentation assignments.
ECON 1010 Economics as a Soc. Science 8380 (E) 11, 12
Studies the role of economics in understanding social problems. It is designed as a general information course for all individuals despite major, and satisfies the social science component of general education.
EDDT 1010 Technical Drafting 1 9814 (CTE) 11, 12
Lab practice in board drafting techniques, the use of drafting tools, lettering, geometric construction, orthographic & isometric sketching, projection techniques, section views, & dimensioning standards in both tech. and arch. disciplines.
EDDT 1040 Introduction to AutoCAD 9819 (CTE) 11, 12
Prerequisite: Basic computer skills
Basic skills using Auto CAD for drafting applications are taught. The course includes: drawing and modification commands, construction, dimensions, templates, blocks, and libraries, hatching, layers, scales, and plotting.
ENGL 1010 Intro to Writing 9600 (Sr. LA) 12
Prerequisite: Placement test
Development of critical literacies – reading, writing, and thinking- using methods of knowledge making: including personal, collaborative, visual, and textual methods. Promote awareness of rhetorical strategies as they apply to a variety of socio-cultural contexts.
FHS 2400 Marriage and Family Relations/ARFL 9928 (CTE, F) 11, 12
Taught in 2 semesters with Adult Roles and Financial Responsibilities
This course prepares students to understand the nature, function, and significance of individual and family relationships integrated with general financial literacy. Topics include: decision-making to set and implement financial goals, values, communication skills, self awareness, families, sources of income and the relationship between income and career preparation, crisis management, marriage preparation, marriage, money management, saving, investing, parenting, and retirement planning. Students who complete the entire course fulfill the General Financial Literacy graduation requirement. FCCLA may be an integral part of the course.
HUMA 1100 Intro to Humanities 9603 (Sr. LA) 11, 12
This course explores the humanities through the arts and intellectual traditions, showing how they relate to concurrent societies. It includes critical discussion of art forms (visual art, music, literature, drama and film.)

Linear and quadratic equations; inequities; polynomials; rational expressions, radicals, negative and rational exponents; complex numbers; linear systems, introduction to functions; logarithms, and exponential functions.
MATH 1050 College Algebra (Foundation/Core) 9650 (AAS-M) 11, 12
Prerequisite: MATH 1010 with C or appropriate CPT score College Algebra satisfies quantitative literacy requirements for students planning to take calculus.
Topics: polynomial, rational, exponential and logarithmic functions; matrices; conics; sequences and series; and mathematical induction.
MATH 1060 Trigonometry (Foundation/Core) 9651 (AAS-M) 11, 12
Prerequisite: MATH 1050 with C or appropriate CPT score
Trigonometric functions and their graphs developed using circular and triangular methods including inverses; polar coordinates; and an introduction to vectors.
MKTG 1030 Introduction to Marketing 9825 (CTE) 11, 12
Students receive a basic understanding of marketing principles and consumer-to-business relationships that influence consumer behavior.
MKTG 1900 Special Projects DECA 9802 (CTE) 11, 12
Students apply marketing management techniques and strategies to a variety of projects and activities. The four basic objectives of the course are: vocational understanding, leadership development, civic consciousness and social intelligence.
